This catalog introduces the work of two young artists of decidedly different artistic profiles, reflecting the influence of their teachers at the academies where they studied. Ye Nan studied under Qiu Zhijie at the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou while Yuan Yuan was taught by the distinguished figurative painter Yu Hong. Ye Nan's installation and prints which refer to source materials ranging from science fiction to politics contrast with Yuan Yuan's informal renderings of the lifestyle of her classmates and friends. The catalog also includes extensive interviews with the artists by Qiu Zhijie and Yu Hong.
