大卫·布林
科幻活动家，旅行家。1950年10月6日出生于美国加利福尼亚州，空间科学博士，物理学家，科幻小说家，NASA顾问。
1980年初次发表作品《潜水员》。长篇小说《星潮汹涌》《邮差》及短篇小说《水晶天》均获“雨果奖”。代表作为“提升”系列小说，包括两套三部曲，其核心概念是一个横跨银河系的庞大文明，其主要使命是“提升”所有已知的呼吸氧气的智慧生命。
