在教材内容设计上，我们充分考虑学生外语的水平层次，从易到难将教材分为三个部分。第一部分是农林经济管理基础专业知识，共六章，其中第1章是农林经济管理相关概念及基础理论，第2章是农业政策知识，第3章农业企业管理基础理论知识，第4章是农产品市场营销基础理论知识，第5章是农业财政基础理论知识，第6章是农业投资基础理论知识。第二部分主要突出中国农林经济管理方面的热点问题，具有时代特点及中国特色，共三章。分别是：中国农业和农村制度的发展、三农问题、环境和农业：在以上两个部分中，每一章节里都包含三篇文章。Reading A作为精讲文章；Reading B作为课外阅读文章，可讲可不讲；CaselStudy作为案例分析文章，用于讨论、学生发言、教师总结。第三部分：农林经济管理论文撰写技巧，目的是要让学生学会用英语撰写农林经济，管理专业的学术论文，提高他们的写作能力。
