　　《英美报刊选读(上)》是按照教育部颁布的两个英语教学大纲的要求结合中国英语教学的特点编写的，与国内现有的英语报刊教程有以下特点：1.符合教育部《高等院校英语专业高年级英语教学大纲》六级和八级的要求。　　2.突破了同类教材在题材和体裁方面的狭隘性。课文的编写重点以阅读和讨论为主要目的，旨在拓宽大学生知识的覆盖面，提高学生分析问题和判断是非的能力，扩大信息的交流。
