作者简介

朱歧新，Professor Zhu Qixin is recognized by many as a celebrated English writer on travel and tourism and China's leadingexpert on it and has devoted considerable study to the arts and cultural heritage of the native China. Born on June 7,1938 in Liyang, Jiangsu province, and graduated in 1965from the English Language and Literature Specialty of the Foreign Languages and Literature Department of NanjingUniversity, Professor Zhu Qixin, an indefatigable writer, is the author of a dozen books on travel and tourism in English, including Places of Interest in Beijing, Be,jingPractical Handbook, A Co//ect/on of Cho/ce Specimensfrom Chinese Culture, A Primer for English-Speaking Guides, The Sights of Beijing, and The Sights of Ch/na. Heserved  as  English speaking  interpreter  for  China International Travel Service (CITS) Head Office and Beijingbranch of CITS, vice-section chief of Beijing branch of CITS, deputy chief of Tourism DMsion of Beijing TourismAdministration, vice-president and president of China CMIInternational Tourist Corporation, part-time professor of Nankai University and member of China NationalStandardization Technical Committee on Tourismappointed by China Technical Supervision Administration.In 1998, Professor Zhu was listed in who's who inChangzhou area, Jiangsu province. In 1999, he won the bid and was authorized by the World Tourism Organization(UNWTO) through the United Nations DevelopmentProgramme (UNDP)based in Beijing to translate theTumen River Area Development Programme (Brochure"The Tumen River Area-New Horizons in Travel")in to Chinese. Invited by Beijing Tourism Administration, Professor Zhu was one of the leading experts from home and abroad on the selection panel for "Greeting Olympicsand Unfolding Elegant Demeanour" 2nd, 3rd and 4thBeijing Guide TV Competitions in 2004/06/07 and was responsible for setting English questions. Entrusted by the Cultural Committee (Tourism Bureau) of Beijing's Xuanwu District, Professor Zhu translated all the captions of the Beijing Xuannan Culture Museum into English in 2005.

版权页：Running from Dongdaqiao Road in the west to Xidawang Road in the east,and from Chaoyang Road in the north to Tonghui River in the south and for minga golden cross in shape, the Central Business District （CBD） aims to become aworld-class business community fo c:using on an outward-looking economy.Experts commented that the CBD programme would greatly propel the capital'ssocial and economic development, along with its successful bid to host the 2008Olympic Games and China's entry into the World Trade Organization （WTO） in2001. The CBD enc:ompasses 4 square kilometres （400 hectares or 988.4 acres）,with the buildings' cotal floor space of less than  10 million square metres. Officebuildings account for about half of the total space, leaving one-quarter to household departments and the remaining quarter to commercial, cultural and amusement services. The major buildings inside the CBD are taller than 100metres and the height of commercial buildings will vary from 150 to 300 metres.Skyscrapers mostly gather in the northeastern part of the district, forming asymbol of the CBD. A green area in the CBD reac:hes 33.39 hectares, nearly 11per cent of the total ground space, lo ensure an environmentally friendly clisLrict.The CBD also emphasizes the building of an efficient traffic network, prioritizingpublic traniiport. Under the traffic scheme, two new subways connect to the CBD. The Beijing municipal government has recently promised to invest a total of12 billion yuan （US$1.46 billion） in municipal works in the CBD, like roads,communication networks and educational facilities. Developers from both China and abroad will complete a large number of other projects. As Beijingmunicipal govemment noted the first phase of the CBD programme, including China World Trade Centre, Phase III, Beijing's Fortune Plaza and China Central Television, are to be completed in early 2008.

•   这本书是关于在北京旅游的书，内容极其丰富，因是英文版的，对你的英文读写能力会有非常大的帮助。
•   正版书，但是收到货时手摸上去好多灰有点脏，送货速度同城工作日上门不是很快 周四下单，周一早上到的。不过对得起这个价格。
•   回复晚了，但是书很值得买
•   给朋友买的，书挺不错，介绍背景的各个景点比较详细。
•   内容丰富，信息量大。如果你想了解更多的北京，同时提高你的英文水平，读这本书是不错的选择。
