 2001年，
《国务院关于基础教育改革与发展的决定》和教育部《基础教育课程改革纲要(试行)》开始实施。从此，中考、高考和大学课程对学生英语综合能力的要求均大幅度提高。在此背景下，过去那种“费时低效”、“高分低能”的英语教材和教学模式对于短期的应考目标都已是捉襟见肘，更无法满足学生对于英语学习和运用的长远需要。

Web sites called "Facebook" and"MySpace" are some of the most popular blog sites for young people. Manyyoung adults use their blogs to write about daily activities and events in their lives.They also provide a place for people to write their ideas and opinions and howthey think of others' ideas. Blogs offer young people a place to show their writingsand feelings. They can also be helpful to connect young people with others. Butblogs can become dangerous when they are read on the Internet by millions ofpeople all over the world.　　Recent studies show that young people often provide their names， age andwhere they live on the Internet. That may not be safe for them. This personalinformation puts them at the risk of being searched out by dangerous people whowant to hurt them. Many students do not know about privacy and are surprised tolearn that adults can read their personal daily records easily. Students can also getinto trouble when they put information about others on their blogs.　　As a result， many schools have'banned the use of blogging web siteson school computers. Many schools have also begun teaching parents aboutthe web sites. Parents should know what their children are doing onlineand should read their blogs to make sure they are not giving out privateinformation. One way to keep away from these problems is to use programs sothat blogs can be read by "friends only". People can read the website only ifthey know a secret word chosen by the blogger.
