　　I Learned to Drive a Car　　我在学开车　　Mr. King lived in a city. He had some big shops and got a lot ofmoney. His son, Jack, studied in a middle school.　The boy likedeverything but studying. He didnt listen to his teachers in class carefullyand never finished his homework on time. He always played footballwhen he was free. And he could never pass the exams. His father had notime to stay at home and didnt know about it.　　One day Miss Read, Jacks English teacher, Called Mr. King. Onthe telephone she told him all about the boys studies. She wanted him tohelp her to educate the boy at home. The man heard this and wasnthappy. When his son came back from school, he gave him a goodbeating. But soon he felt sorry for it when he saw the boy crying in hisroom. The next morning, before Jack went to school, he asked, "Whatdo you want me to buy for you next year？"　　"A car," answered the boy.　　"OK," said Mr. King. "Study hard, my son！Ill buy a car for youif you pass the exams next term. "　　Another term was over, Jack failed the exams again. Mr. King hada look at the school report and asked, "What did you do this term,Jack？"　　"I learned to drive a car," answered the boy.
