前言

　　先致上萬分感謝！cacao可口雜誌這期進入一年了。因為一年我們決定做些調整，頁數輕一點，價錢也降低了！有讀者反應希望每個月都可以看到，但是我們的人力真的有限，國外收稿還有雙文翻譯的時間，種種考量讓我們短時間還是希望以季刊維持品質；不過有個好消息，我們十月另外推出《cacao Alchemy》（可口煉金術）雙月刊，內容與訴求點將會明顯區隔，唯一共同點就是延續雙文與品質的堅持。　　這期介紹的”馬德里城市”從過去看到現在的改變，影響了藝術、舞蹈、音樂、電影與創作，招喚著懷舊帶點慵懶的特殊風味；呼應主題”面對/對抗”，時代總在變，如何自處將是最大的精神體現。「自我面對」不是實質的東西，極為抽象（或許需要練習）領悟與開竅就在個人。我們無時不在訓練中。　　First of all, we want to thank you all a thousand times for your support！ With this volume, Cacao Magazine has completed one year of publishing. With this anniversary we have decided to make a few adjustments; we want to decrease the number of pages in each volume, and also the price will be cut back a little！ There have been requests from readers that they would like to see Cacao appearing on the shelves each month, but the limited resources that come with a small group of contributors, in addition to being bi-lingual, prevent us from turning Cacao into a monthly publication without compromising on our high-quality standards. But there is good news for our readers: In October we will introduce our new sister-magazine Cacao Alchemy. It will be bi-monthly, and the content will differ distinctively from Cacao. The only things that will be the same are the high-quality of the articles and the bi-lingual approach.　　　　In this volume, we introduced the city of Madrid, a city that has a strong influence on the arts, dance and also on music and film. It is a city that invites you to delve in the melancholy and nostalgia. Our main topic of confrontation deals with how the city has changed through the times, though change it is sometimes hard to explain because of its abstract and intangible nature. Self-struggle is not a very tangible thing either; to comprehend it still lies within the power of the individual and needs a lot of practice, too. But we keep on trying our best to make those topics easier to comprehend.　　Sin Sin Kuo　　cacao滿一歲、台灣一百歲的今年，更是台灣「設計年」！全台各地規劃的三十三個活動中，最受關注的要屬「台北世界設計大會」。2011台北世界設計大會是由國際三大設計社團組織 （Icsid、Icograda以及IFI） 所組成的「國際設計聯盟 （IDA）」在成立後首次的世界設計大會，而台灣創意設計中心在政府的支持下，從全球十三個國家、十九個城市中脫穎而出，取得主辦資格；這個可謂是設計界的聯合國大會的主軸活動包含「IDA國際設計論壇」、「三大主題之夜」、「台北世界設計大展」以及「新世代交叉設計營」將在今年十月份盛大展開！再來就是cacao與九月份的「台灣設計師週」以及瑞典設計公司Propeller合辦了「2011北歐螺旋槳登陸計畫」設計比賽，要將台灣的好設計推到瑞典！在台灣越來越國際化的腳步上，其實年年都是「設計年」！　　This year, Cacao turns one, the same year that Taiwan reaches its 100th anniversary！ To celebrate, there are 33 events planned throughout the year. But our favorite one is still the Taipei IDA Congress. This year, it is co-hosted by the three outstanding design bureaus of Icsid, Icograda and IFI. This big and important event will have visiting artists from 19 cities in 13 countries and will include the events of IDA International Design Forum, the Night of 3 Big Topics and the Taipei World Design Exhibition. It will open with the 2011 Young Designers Workshop beginning of October. Another big event will be the Taipei Designers Week, which will be hosted by Cacao Magazine and the 2011 Landing in Scandinavia that we host in cooperation with the Swedish design company Propeller. The winners of that competition will get a chance to showcase their work in Sweden. In the wake of Taiwan becoming more and more international, actually every year is Design Year.　　Gosfordmonkey

　　馬德里，舞者夜行文人晝飲之痛並快樂城市。我們以「唐吉訶德」的精神騎著瘦馬毛驢，與時代的偏差與狂亂為敵，毫不躲避正面迎擊。　　「面對/對抗」主題之下，我們尋覓著馬德里「鬥牛士、舞者與畫家」的精神。鬥牛士對抗恐懼，佛郎明哥舞面對內心情慾，畫家們對抗世俗與殘酷自我…。　　在「面對/對抗」中，不停地追求最後的也最真實的答案，在名為信念的旗幟之下。
