Saving the environment stopped being fashionable a while ago, now it's part of everyone's agenda. China is getting serious about going green. Backed by the government, ongoing campaigns by NGOs, private institutions and individuals are spreading the message that if we don't get serious about protecting the environment, we'll soon be digging our own graves. It's the people who stand up and take responsibility, often in the face of much criticism, that we need more of now, those who make it their business to protect the rivers, forests and skies. They are the true Green Chinese Heroes and we salute them.
