　　Hello, everyone.　　My name is Hermione. Im very pleased to have this opportunity tostand here and give this speech.　　Today Im going to talk about an English word "poor". As you know,this word has two different meanings. One meaning is that people withoutmoney, and the other is wretched and pitiful.　　I would like to tell you a story about this word. A reporter went tointerview a very poor family. He sat down and began: "As we know,youre very poor..." "Sorry, Sir！" the youngest child in the familyinterrupted him. "But I dont think were poor！ It is true that we have nomoney, but were not poor at all！ We really enjoy our lives！" In fact,although money is definitely useful, theres something money cannot buy,something precious and invaluable, something really important, such asknowledge, time, love, friendship, mood and happiness. From the storywe can learn that people without money can still enjoy their lives just as richpeople do. It is happiness that can make our lives rich and full.　　Thank you for listening to my speech today.
