　　Wet behind the ears 乳臭未干　　该语产生于20世纪早期，源于新出生的小马或牛犊身上最后要被母牛或母马舔干的地方是耳背。所以wet behind the ears喻指新手“没有经验”。注意如果用该语评论别人，常带有轻蔑的语气，但是如果是说自己，则表示自谦。该语的另一形式是：not dry behind the ears。　　A：How can you take instructions from Mike？ He’S still wet behind the ears．　　B：Wet behind the ears？ He’s beenin the busi．ness for more than 9 years． He’S still wet behind the ears．but I see him gaining confidence with each progress he makes．With each game he plays．He is going to get a bit better。 The older members of the committee took no notiee of anything I said：they clearly thoughtl was still wetbehind the ears．　　A：你怎么能听迈克的呢？他还是个乳臭未干的小子。　　B：乳臭未干？他已经干这行9年多了。他虽然还是个毛头小伙子，但是每一次成功都使他不断地获得自信。每一次比赛都让他一点点地变强。委员会里年长的委员们根本不注意我的发言，他们显然认为我还乳臭未干。　　……
