  伊丽莎白·芭蕾特·勃朗宁夫人是英国19世纪著名女诗人,她于1806年3月6日诞生于富裕的资产阶级家庭,从小热爱诗歌,八岁开始写诗,十三岁出版四卷史诗——咏叹古希腊的马拉松战役,十五岁因骑马坠落,跌断脊椎和腿骨瘫痪在床;其间遭遇慈母病亡,由其弟爱德华陪同她在乡间养病,其弟又不幸溺死在窗前她目睹的河水中。
  诗人忍受着常人难以忍受的悲痛,在疾病中坚强地活下来,把自己的情感全部注入诗中,先后出版了《被缚的普罗米修斯》英译本(1833年)和诗集《天使们》(1838年)《孩子们的呼声》(1843年)《诗集——1844》(1844年)等。这些诗集的出版,得到艺术界的公认,读者的欢迎,好评如潮;她成为英国最优秀的诗人。
  她的诗,也引起了青年诗人罗伯特·勃朗宁的关注,从此,他们开始了长达一年零八个月的通信。爱情终于战胜了世俗,也战胜了疾病,勃朗宁夫人奇迹般地重新站立起来。他们先是住在意大利的比萨,后定居风景优美的佛罗伦萨。
  1861年6月29日,女诗人躺在勃朗宁先生的怀里,安详的闭上了她灵慧的双眼,幸福地结束了他们硕果累累的十五年。

作者简介

  •   勃朗宁夫人的诗集出版不多,不好找,令人惊喜的是居然在当当找到了,高兴啊!
  •   之前看耽美小说时提到了这本情诗集,因为喜欢那篇小说,便买了本回来。我一向不太喜欢情诗,总觉得写得腻呼呼的,可是却对这本情书集情有独钟。因为写得率真,写得隽永,读起来觉得很清新。最喜欢其中的一首:我背后正有个神秘的黑影 So weeping, how a mystic Shape did move 在移动,而且一把揪住了我的发, Behind me, and drew me backward by the hair; 往后拉,还有一声吆喝(我只是在挣扎): And a voice said in mastery, while I strove, -- “这回是谁逮住了你?猜!”“死,”我答话。 `Guess now who holds thee?' -- `Death.' I said. But, there 听哪,那银铃似的回音:“不是死,是爱!” The silver answer rang, -- `Not Death, but love.'这个版本的插图也很棒。推荐购买收藏。
