　本书初版于1987年，现为1995年修订版。作者在书中全面考察了翻译研究的历史和现状，提出了将翻译研究看作一门独立学科的见解。作者吸收语言学派和文学派翻译理论的长处，以格式塔整体理论为基础，倡导翻译研究的综合方法。此外，作者还客观地分析了相关学科对翻译研究的影响，并对翻译理论研究方面的近期趋向作了介绍与归纳。　　玛丽·斯内汮－霍恩比借鉴吸收语言学派和文学派翻译理论各自的优势和长处，提出建立翻译研究为一门独立学科的见解，并运用格式整体理论及场景一框架语义学等理论指导倡导翻译研究的综合方法。这不仅大大开阔了翻译研究者的视野，也为我国的翻译研究提供了可资借鉴的理论依据，对我国翻译研究具有一定的指导意义。

作者简介

玛丽·斯内汮－霍恩比，任教于维也纳大学翻译传译学系，长期从事英语、德语翻译，是欧洲翻译协会的创始人之一。

•   薄薄的一册，内容却十分丰富。霍恩比主张将翻译研究视为一门独立学科，提出基于格式塔与原型学的翻译研究综合法。语言简洁，条理明晰，阅读难度不大。不过选取的译例都是英语与德语语篇，不会德语的话估计会对理解造成一定的负担。

•   挺好的一本书，学术性较强

•   没有出现质量问题
•   导师建议论文写作使用一些理论依据，因此购买此书，外包装书的质量较好，期望内容也如此。
