前言

　　There are many things in life which we alone cannot do. In fact, the supply of most of our daily necessaries, to say nothing about the big ones, depends on people of all walks. There is a proverb which says that "One man is not good enough to live alone in the world. "With this we may conclude that friends are necessary during our lifetime. Friends are people who willingly and readily help us when we are in trouble, and show warm sympathy with us when we are in misery.　　The benefits obtained from friendship are boundless and invisible sometimes. For example, when we have graduated from college and are looking for a job, we need friend sexperienced and reliable to guide us and help us on our way, otherwise it will be very difficult for us to begin with. There are, all around us, bad people whom we do not recognize as such. With the advice of our friends, we soon learn to avoid them. A good friend is also an adviser because our own viewpoints of things may not always be right. So, in order to make correction, we must seek advice from our friends.　　In order to make friends, we ourselves must be kind and make a favorable impression on others in the first place, since other people know how to observe us the same way we do. If we are kind to others, they soon get to know we are good and will be willing to start a friendship with us. But we should always remember that we can only be kind and honest with the right people whom we desire to make friends with. It is a very serious mistake to seek acquaintance with bad people.
