　　The 1998 Lisbon World Exposition was　a specialized World’S Fair held in Lisbon.　Portugal from May 22 to September 30，1 998.　The theme of the fair was“The Oceans.a　Heritage for the Future”，chosen partly to cel-　ebrate the 500th anniversay of the discovery　of India by Vasco da Game，the Portuguese　navigator.The Expo received around 1 1 mil-　lion visitors in 1 32 days.155 counties and organizations aRended the exposition.Expo　1998 was fully built from scratch.Every build.　ing was pre-sold to ensure that the site would　not be left abandoned after the Expo closed.　　1998年里斯本世博会是在葡萄牙里斯本举办的专业性世界博览会，会期从1998年5月22日到9月30日。这届世博会的主题是“海洋——未来的财富”，部分原因是为了纪念葡萄牙航海家瓦斯科·达·伽马发现印度航线500周年。在博览会召开的132天里，参观人数约1 100万人，155个国家、地区和国际组织参加了展览。1998年世博会的展馆建筑全部是新建的，而且提前售出，以保证世博会结束后会场不会被闲置废弃。
